History of Kino Bay Desert Club
On February 11, 2001 a meeting of interested golfers met with Fausto Garcia to discuss obtaining a comodato, a lease, from the state government. They wrote a letter proposing the plans for a new golf course. It was then that 34 people each paid $500 USD for a 5 year membership to fund the original construction cost. The 5-year lease  was issued on February 18th, 2002. A month later construction was finished, and the first tournament was held on March 15th. Since then, the Desert Golf Club has made many improvements.
